The role
Principal Hydrogeologist – Naas, IrelandAs a Principal Hydrogeologist at WSP, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day delivery of projects, working closely with Project Managers, Directors and other team members.ResponsibilitiesLead and line‑manage project teams, providing high level environmental consultancy services to clients.Manage complex projects, ensuring strong commercial awareness, timely invoicing and delivery.Provide technical direction, review work produced by others and give constructive feedback.Develop hydrogeological conceptual models and interpret hydrogeological/ geological data.Prepare and support hydrogeological risk assessments for contaminated land, landfill, groundwater resource, dewatering, abstraction and geothermal projects.Use and develop software such as ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow, Seep/W.Maintain and grow business relationships, prepare proposals, and support commercial targets.Support the recruitment and mentoring of junior staff, promoting an inclusive workplace.Deliver clear and concise reports and self‑check interpretative work.QualificationsPost‑graduate qualification (MTech, MSc or PhD) in Hydrogeology or a related hydrogeological discipline.Chartered status or active pursuit of chartership with a clear submission target.Extensive experience in preparing factual and interpretive reports in a consultancy setting.Proficiency in risk assessment modelling using ConSim, RTM and LandSim.Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage several projects simultaneously.Strong commercial awareness and experience in client liaison and proposal development.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex information simply.Commitment to health, safety and wellbeing and enthusiasm for continuous professional development.LegalHere at WSP we positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates, regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, pregnancy or maternity/paternity.
