Job Overview
The role of an Accountant involves a range of responsibilities including the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and tax planning.
* Prepare monthly management accounts for group companies by analysing financial data, identifying trends and discrepancies.
* Support senior management in developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability.
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Manage inter-company transactions, adhering to company policies and procedures.
* Cashflow management is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the business.
* Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and business processes, continuously reviewing and enhancing financial controls.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and taxation obligations, staying up-to-date with changing regulations.
* Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
* Contribute to various ad hoc finance projects as required, providing expert advice and guidance.
Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Professional accountancy qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Strong IT skills, proficient in spreadsheet software and other accounting tools.
* A proactive and critical thinker, able to analyse complex financial data and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
