Fixed Term / Secondment until March 2027 We are a dynamic team striving to deliver the best integrated MDT care to children and young people living with long-term health conditions and their families.
We are fortunate to be based in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and benefit from the support of a wide range of multidisciplinary mental health specialists.
Within the Paediatric Clinical Health Psychology Service we have the flexibility to develop interventions based on demand, such as targeted group work.
The role involves offering tailored psychological assessment and intervention, contributing to complex MDT care plans when a child’s condition is life‑limiting, and supporting staff through reflective practice groups.
The post holder also has the opportunity to gain unique experience working alongside the Child Healthy Weight Service.
Although the post is time‑limited, we are interested in learning what you are passionate about and supporting your interests where possible. We run working groups on CPD, staff support, and CAMHS website development, among others, that could benefit from your contributions.
We work closely with medical, nursing and allied health professional teams, building solid relationships. Many of us share offices in the same building, allowing easy collaboration.
We work with the Highland Children’s Unit and Neonate Unit in Raigmore Hospital, so being present on the wards in person is required.
We are a friendly, supportive team delighted to offer this opportunity to an experienced psychologist or someone motivated to gain experience in this specialist area or to gain a secondment to a new working area or location.
The Highlands provide stunning geography for outdoor activities and urban amenities such as Eden Court Theatre, restaurants, bars and shops in Inverness. Opportunities for after‑work loch swimming exist with the more adventurous members of our team.
Part‑time hours may be considered and a relocation package may be available.
