Job Description:
1. Conduct pre-shift vehicle H&S checks before departure from the depot.
2. Load vehicles according to client company procedures – Bulk or Cylinder.
3. Deliver LPG following company procedures on a single or multi-drop basis to households, factories, farms, hotels, and restaurants using the client/customer vehicle fleet equipped with digital logistic systems.
4. Maintain excellent knowledge of LPG, its properties, and associated dangers.
5. Wash, refuel, and check the vehicle fleet.
6. Keep the vehicle, including the cab interior, clean.
7. Report accidents or incidents to the depot immediately and note any unsafe or dangerous sites.
8. Complete all Near Miss reporting as required.
9. Produce a licence for periodic inspection and report any adjustments immediately.
10. Adhere to the legal requirements of Tacho Driver Hours and be familiar with tachograph regulations regarding driving times and breaks. Daily download of digital tachograph card required.
11. Maintain and process daily paperwork, submitting it at the end of the shift.
12. Follow the procedures as outlined in the driver's manual and training manual.
13. Assist with training other drivers as needed.
14. Work on a flexible schedule with possible after-hours emergency calls.
15. Communicate clearly and effectively.
16. Provide excellent customer service.
17. Complete minor yard duties as required.
18. Fully cooperate and adhere to all health and safety processes and procedures at all times.
19. Undertake training in new processes, equipment, and technology for continuous development.
20. Perform basic LPG tank inspections and other duties related to tank compliance.
Requirements:
21. Hold a clean HGV driving licence appropriate to the size of the vehicle (rigid).
22. ADR Certificate in bulk gases and packages.
23. Up-to-date CPC.
24. In-date Tachograph.
25. Clean driving record essential, with proof available if requested.
26. Essential health and safety awareness and knowledge.
27. Safety-conscious in driving and handling LPG, including wearing protective clothing and equipment and using manual handling techniques.
28. Familiarity with tachograph regulations regarding driving times and breaks.
29. Flexibility and availability for early and late start times (e.g., early starts from 5:00 hrs and late starts from 14:00 hrs).
30. Flexible, positive, can-do attitude to meet customer demands.
31. Excellent communication skills.
32. Professional manner in all communications and interactions with colleagues, managers, other employees, customers, the public, and other road users.
33. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking – key requirements for the position.
34. Willingness to embrace change and new technologies.
35. Knowledge of mechanics is advantageous.
36. Experience in digital logistics is an advantage.
37. Good geographical knowledge of Northern and/or Southern Ireland.
38. LPG knowledge.
39. Previous relevant driving experience, with gas/fuel experience being an advantage.
40. Customer-focused with a proven track record of positive and professional interactions.
