Job Title: ICT Manager
Location: Fully onsite in Tully, Co. Kildare

Driving Requirement: Must hold a valid driver’s licence and be able to commute to site
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive ICT Manager to lead the strategic and operational development of ICT infrastructure. This role offers significant ownership and autonomy, with responsibility for shaping the ICT strategy, managing external IT support, and delivering a wide range of technical and business-critical projects. The successful candidate will be both technically proficient and an effective manager, capable of aligning ICT initiatives with organizational goals and public sector standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with business objectives.
* Conduct IT needs assessments and business process reviews to optimize ICT investment.
* Lead the transition to cloud-based infrastructure and modern collaboration tools.
Risk & Compliance
* Conduct thorough risk and business impact assessments.
* Devise and implement risk mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and NSCS Public Sector Security Baseline Standards.
* Maintain and update the corporate risk register.
Operational Oversight
* Oversee external IT support contractors, ensuring SLAs and performance standards are met.
* Manage local infrastructure including servers, firewalls, and networking equipment.
* Implement MFA across Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments.
* Formalize and maintain an IT Asset Register.
Performance & Reporting
* Define IT performance metrics and establish structured reporting to Senior Management and the Board.
* Monitor security posture, incident management, infrastructure status, and disaster recovery readiness.
Project Management
* Lead multiple concurrent projects including:
* Server upgrades
* Broadband and Wi-Fi implementation
* PCI compliance audits
* Document retention and file clean-up
* Replacement of legacy applications
* Transition from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365
* Cloud migration of file sharing and Active Directory functions
Short-Term Targets (2025):
* Complete IT needs assessment and business process mapping.
* Develop IT Framework aligned with ISO and NSCS standards.
* Implement MFA and clean up legacy files.
* Relocate IT equipment to Comms Cabinet and secure power source.
* Establish IT Asset Register and network diagram.
* Begin PC lifecycle replacement and Windows 11 upgrade.
* Conduct PCI compliance audit and document procedures.
* Initiate Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning.
* Prepare for server upgrade and broadband coordination.
* Review and update IT policies and procedures.
* Close out 2024 IT audit items.
Medium-Term Targets (2026):
* Onboard new IT support model.
* Finalise server upgrade.
* Implement broadband and Wi-Fi across key buildings.
* Plan for purpose-built Server/Comms Room.
* Transition email and collaboration tools to Microsoft 365.
* Begin cloud migration of infrastructure.
* Explore AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini) to enhance business processes.
Long-Term Targets (2027):
* Plan migration of Finance and Horse Management systems to cloud.
* Upgrade network cabling and consolidate infrastructure.
* Complete full cloud migration of file sharing and Active Directory.
Technical Environment:
* Email & Collaboration: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365
* Security: SOFAS spam filter & antivirus, MFA, Cisco firewalls
* Infrastructure: Local Active Directory, Windows 10/11, 2 physical servers
* Telephony: Webex via 3ICT
* Networking: DNS management, Cloudflare
* Support Model: Subcontracted IT support (transitioning)
* Applications: Tourism Journal (legacy), Exchequer (Finance)
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in ICT strategy development and implementation.
* Strong technical background in infrastructure, cloud migration, and cybersecurity.
* Experience managing external IT vendors and service contracts.
* Familiarity with ISO 27001, NSCS standards, and PCI compliance.
* Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong reporting and analytical capabilities.
Desirable:
* Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
* Knowledge of AI tools and their application in business process improvement.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Entra, SharePoint, and hybrid cloud environments.
