Job DescriptionPortlaoise Logistics Limited, based in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, is seeking HGV Mechanics to start immediately at the facility.
ResponsibilitiesFit, install, maintain, service and repair engines and mechanical equipment of heavy goods vehicles.Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts.Fit, examine, test and service heavy goods vehicles and engines.Replace engine components or complete engines.Fit, examine, adjust, dismantle, rebuild and replace defective parts of HGVs.Use vehicle diagnostics and repair & diagnose ABS/EBS brake systems.Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers and vans.Install and adjust motors, brakes and steering.Install, adjust and service mechatronic components of HGVs.Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and engine tune‑ups to ensure smooth running and compliance with pollution regulations.Reassemble engines and parts after repairs.
Qualifications2–3 years of HGV mechanic experience.Mechanic certification preferred but not essential.No minimum academic requirements.Mechanical qualification or certificate is a bonus.
Remuneration and Working ConditionsAnnual remuneration: €34,000.00 (Pay rate €16.77 per hour). Work location: Portlaoise Logistics Limited, Kilminchy, Dublin Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 CPA4. Hours per week: 39.
