Researcher Position in Pharmaceutical Sciences
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the School of Pharmacy. As a researcher in this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of critical medicines for improving global health and equality.
The project aims to address the challenges faced by low-income populations in developing countries in accessing life-saving medicines. Our team is using modern computational methods to accelerate the creation of medicines for conditions that disproportionately affect those in developing countries, such as malaria and other tropical diseases.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated team that will use AI and machine learning tools to develop formulations for critical drug molecules. You will gain experience in developing computational models, working with a project team, and contributing to the dissemination of research results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct a specified programme of research under the supervision of a Principal Investigator/Project Leader
* Complete in vitro screening experiments and pharmaceutical characterisations to inform computational models for critical drug molecules
* Support team members in developing computational models for formulation selection of critical drug molecules
* Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities to develop research skills and competencies
* Gain experience in grant writing and become familiar with the publication process
Requirements:
* A PhD qualification in Pharmacy, Drug Delivery, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Chemical Sciences disciplines
* Appropriate extensive practical laboratory experience
* Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well within a team and commitment to gaining practical experience working on a research project
What We Offer:
