Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Shunter Driver. This is a full time permanent role based on-site in Annacotty.

Responsibilities:
As a Shunter Driver you are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers, trucks and containers within the depot. Daily tasks and responsibilities include:
Vehicle & Trailer Movement
1. Manoeuvring trucks, trailers, and containers safely within the yard or depot;
2. Coupling and uncoupling trailers while ensuring all safety procedures are followed;
3. Positioning vehicles at loading bays, docks, or designated areas for loading/unloading;
4. Assisting HGV drivers with parking and trailer swaps when required.
Yard & Fleet Operations
5. Ensuring efficient traffic flow within the yard by organising vehicle movements;
6. Conducting pre-shift and post-shift vehicle checks to identify any defects;
7. Reporting any mechanical issues or damage to vehicles and trailers.
Safety & Compliance
8. Following yard safety protocols, including speed limits and designated shunting routes;
9. Adhering to health & safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
Coordination & Communication
10. Communicating with transport managers and warehouse teams to ensure smooth loading/unloading operations.
11. Keeping records of trailer movements, vehicle inspections, and incidents.
12. Assisting with loading and unloading if required, depending on the employer.

Criteria:
17. Valid driving license - Category CE;
18. Valid Digi Tacho card;
19. Fully compliant with CPC regulations;
20. Knowledge of safe vehicle manoeuvring coupling, and uncoupling trailers;
21. Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
