We are seeking a Cost Planner to support the delivery of quantity surveying services and assist with pre-contract cost planning activities under the guidance of the Senior Cost Planner. This role involves measuring planned works, preparing cost estimates, and supporting key project decisions throughout acquisition and design development stages. Flexible working arrangements are available. Responsibilities Assist in preparing cost plans from feasibility stage through to detailed pre-construction planning. Participate in design team meetings and provide updates to the Senior Cost Planner. Support the design team with cost-efficient recommendations on layouts, unit types, and materials. Liaise with internal teams and use benchmarking data from live projects to support budget preparation. Work with sales teams to ensure project specifications and budgets align with market expectations. Assist with quantity take-offs and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs). Maintain and develop construction cost databases for ongoing estimation and appraisal purposes. Support the preparation of Part V applications and ensure compliance with Local Authority requirements. Coordinate with PQS consultants to ensure accurate and up-to-date project budgeting. Attend meetings and site visits as required. Requirements Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience with a PQS practice or property developer. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Buildsoft-Cubit, CostX (or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and Word. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Willingness to continue developing professional knowledge and skills.
