The Merchant's Arch is looking for experienced floor staff members to join our team.
Full-time and Part time staff will be offered up to 48 hrs a week with a mixture of both daytime shifts and evening shifts.
Main tasks involve providing clients with all the table service cycle, namely greeting, serving food and drinks, and operating POS till systems.
The Floor Staff should be able to work as part of a busy team, communicate efficiently with all the members and adhere to HACCP and Alcohol sales regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Greet and escort customers to their table
* Accurately proceed with all the clients table service cycle, including.
* Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
* Inform customers about the day's specials and offer menu recommendations upon request.
* Take accurate food and drinks orders.
* Serve food and drink orders.
* Deliver checks and collect bill payments.
* Forward dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
* Aid in front of the house upkeep, such as, preparing tables by setting up silverware and glasses, maintaining a clean dining area, clean service area and cutlery at the end of service.
* Communicate order details to the kitchen staff or bar staff as appropriate.
* Up-sell additional products when appropriate.
* Check customers' IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
* Follow all relevant health department regulations.
* Provide excellent customer service to guests.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 2 year experience as floor staff in busy Pub & Restaurant environment
* English speaker
* Team worker
* Punctual and assiduous
* Very good customer service skills
* Must be flexible to work daytime / evenings / weekends.
* Cash handling experience needed
