Post 2237 - Registered Nurse (Cork) Cork Post 2237 Registered Nurse, Medical/Therapeutic Apheresis Department Full-Time Temporary Cork Centre The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, temporary Registered Nurse based in the Medical/Therapeutic Apheresis Department, National Blood Centre. The role of the Registered General Nurse (RGN) on the Therapeutic Apheresis Service (TAS) in the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the delivery of a therapeutic apheresis service to the main Cork hospitals. This service is Consultant led and delivered by Specialist Medical officers and RGNs. The service provides Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) and Red Cell Exchange (RCE) to patients. The critical nature of the service requires flexibility, i.e. service provision outside of core business hours and on-call. The RGN is expected at all times to practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Code of Practice Essential Criteria: To be registered with NMBI (live register) in the General Division. Have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience. Evidence of recent (last 12 months) continuous professional development (CPD). Excellent written communication skills, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Proven IT skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook) and experience of working with electronic Patient Management / Learning Management systems. Full Driving Licence and own vehicle. Desirable Criteria: A post graduate qualification or experience in any of the following areas: Renal, Haematology, Critical Care or ICU. Previous experience working in a Therapeutic Apheresis Service / Apheresis Service. The salary scale attached to the post is the Enhanced Nurse scale €44,311 to €57,273 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience. The closing date for receipt of applications is 13:00 hrs (Irish Time) on Tuesday 2nd December 2025. Citizen Requirements Eligible candidates must be: a) A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway b) A citizen of United Kingdom (UK) c) A citizen of Switzerland in regards to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the movement of people d) A non-EEA citizen who has a stamp 4 visa e) A person awarded international protection under the International Protection Act 2015, or any family member entitled to remain in the State as a result of family reunification and has a stamp 4 visa or f) A non-EEA citizen who is a parent of a dependant child who is a citizen of and resident in an EEA member state if the UK or Switzerland and has a stamp 4 visa.
