Job Title:
Chemical Production Specialist
This role involves working as part of a team, handling raw materials, manufacturing batches, and loading/unloading bulk liquids. Key responsibilities include unloading/transfer of bulk chemical shipments, filling/loading chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to customers, and operating track machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Unload and transfer bulk chemical shipments at Foynes dock to storage tanks/warehouse
* Filling/loading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to parent company or directly to customers
* Driving/shunting forklift trucks
* Operating track machinery and loading shovel as required
* Using teleported equipment and MEWP (mobile elevating work platform)
* Operating pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc., for liquid transfer
* Stock taking, recording data, transferring data/information to parent site in Shannon
* Communicating with ships, hauliers, and parent company
* Directly involved with offloading material through shipping partners, including occasional unsociable hours
Requirements:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
* Experienced General Operator
* Forklift Driver: Forklift License
* Experience using other machinery an advantage (e.g. Teleporter/MEWP/Shunter)
* Familiar with handling corrosive chemicals
* Chemical Awareness Training
* Experience using personal protective equipment
* Familiar with the use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc., for liquid transfer
* Familiar with Safety Data Sheets for chemicals
* Familiar with the requirements for transporting hazardous loads by road
* Manual handling training and practical experience of manual operations
* Computer literate, with knowledge of software packages such as Word, Excel
Working Schedule:
39 hours per week, Monday-Friday during training, 08:00-16:30
Once training complete, shift will be 11:30 until 20:00 (19:00 on Friday)
