We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support a long-term onsite project at a leading biologics manufacturing facility. The role is part of an established automation support team delivering system expertise across various site functions including production, maintenance, and engineering projects.
This is a day-shift (office hours) position based at a state-of-the-art facility with integrated manufacturing, packaging, and testing operations. The opportunity offers competitive rates and long-term contract potential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned systems and processes.
* Manage and execute automation-related change controls in compliance with site procedures.
* Support the identification and implementation of system improvements and corrective actions.
* Provide coaching and guidance to operators and maintenance technicians in the use and optimization of automation systems.
* Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and vendors for project delivery, ensuring adherence to technical and quality standards.
* Represent the end-user in the qualification and testing of vendor-provided systems and equipment.
* Contribute automation expertise to cross-functional teams for the integration of new products and technologies into existing production lines.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with automated control systems in a regulated manufacturing environment (ideally pharma or life sciences).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface across technical and non-technical teams.
* Proven experience with the following platforms is required:
* Siemens S7, TIA Portal, PCS7
* HMI/SCADA systems including Aveva / Wonderware InTouch and WinCC
* Familiarity with DeltaV or Desigo is an advantage but not essential.
