Position Summary:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the end-to-end coordination, execution, and delivery of security system installation projects at customer sites, involving, but not limited to the installation, programming / commissioning, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Intruder & Fire, CCTV & Access Control, General Security, and/or Building Automation projects. Works with management and administrative project team to ensure projects are effectively executed to the required quality standards within contractual scope, budgeted cost, and time schedules.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversees overall site management of project(s) for successful and timely completion within budget and scope of work as required by the contract. Works with the Project Coordinator to prepare project installation plan and implement job procedures.
2. Supervises Project Specialists, Manages Installers and subcontractors overseeing daily field activities. May perform managerial responsibilities including but not limited to: Engineer Inhouse or onsite Training / mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; planning, assigning and directing work.
3. Coordinates and supervises subcontractors including directing on-site activities and verifying quality assurance standards.
4. Works closely with the Head of Power Teams and the Project Coordinator to assist in the overall coordination of specific projects; Manages labor, materials, and equipment logistics to avoid delays and cost overruns. makes recommendations regarding potential changes in scope and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
5. Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
6. Responsible for overall quality of the installation in accordance with national and local codes, and company standards, whilst ensuring adherence to Company safety policy at all times.
7. Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation. Colleague is key interface for providing technical support & direction to field teams, assisting in troubleshooting, and for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction.
8. Maintains accurate project documentation including variations / change orders, as-built drawings, test reports, and project close-out packages, O&M Files.
9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Job Skills Requirements:
* Exceptional customer focus and ability to regularly work under pressure; consistent ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
* Strong supervision skills and 'hands-on' installation & commissioning experience related to building automation systems, both conventional & addressable fire alarm systems, Intruder Alarms, CCTV & Access Control, and/or electronic security systems; may adapt procedures, processes, tools to meet the more complex requirements of the job
* Strong field supervision skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
* Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision
* Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; advanced math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.)
* Frequent visits to jobsites are required for general supervision of Installers & subcontractors and / or for attending Site Project / Client Meetings. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid driver's license required.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Advanced organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Education Requirements:
* Relevant trade designation (e.g. Electrician/Security) required
Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of five years of previous, relevant field experience required
* Experience in the Electronic security industry with knowledge of both 'local' & enterprise Systems such as
CCure, Lenel,
Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec
etc..
Certifications & Licenses:
* Multiple product-specific certifications desired; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses required; must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
