Role Overview:
The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of Happy Days Childcare Services Ltd. This role involves supporting the board in understanding the organisation’s financial position, ensuring good financial governance, and working with staff to ensure accurate budgeting, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Treasurer does not manage day-to-day finances but provides strategic oversight and financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the organisation’s financial affairs and ensure they are conducted in line with legal and regulatory obligations.
* Work with the Manager and finance staff/bookkeeper to review budgets, financial reports, and funding applications.
* Present clear financial updates to the board at regular meetings, ensuring members understand financial matters.
* Monitor cash flow, income, and expenditure to support long-term financial planning.
* Lead on the preparation and presentation of annual accounts, and ensure timely filing with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) and relevant bodies.
* Support the development of financial policies and risk management strategies.
* Advise on funding strategies, sustainability, and resource allocation.
* Liaise with auditors or independent examiners as needed.
