What is the role?
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Buyer – Indirect Procurement to lead high-stakes supplier negotiations, ensuring optimal value, terms, and long-term partnerships.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and dealmaker with a proven track record of delivering cost savings, contract advantages, and supplier performance improvements through world-class negotiation strategies.
What are the key responsibilities?
Strategic Negotiations

• Lead and manage complex, high-value supplier negotiations across multiple categories and regions.

• Develop and execute negotiation strategies tailored to business objectives, risk profiles, and supplier dynamics.

• Ensure competitive pricing, optimal terms & conditions, and service-level agreements are achieved in every negotiation.
Contract & Agreement Management

• Draft, evaluate, and finalize commercial contracts ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

• Coordinate with legal, finance, and operations to ensure favourable terms that reduce liabilities and protect business interests.

• Implement contract management tools and processes for effective lifecycle tracking and renewal alerts.

• Identify, qualify, and onboard key strategic suppliers through structured negotiation and due diligence.

• Drive supplier consolidation where appropriate to leverage spend and increase value.

• Monitor supplier performance and manage corrective action plans based on negotiated service levels and KPIs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with internal stakeholders including operations, R&D, marketing, finance, and legal to align procurement goals with broader business strategies.

• Act as the key liaison between internal customers and external vendors for all negotiation matters.

• Identify cost-reduction opportunities through negotiation, redesign, bundling, and process improvements.

• Lead should-cost modelling and competitive benchmarking exercises to strengthen negotiation positions.

• Support product development and innovation through early supplier engagement and joint value creation.

• Identify and mitigate commercial, geopolitical, and supply chain risks during contract negotiation.

• Ensure adherence to ethical procurement practices, regulatory guidelines, and sustainability goals.

• Conduct supplier audits and enforce anti-corruption/anti-bribery clauses as part of contracts.

• Conduct regular market and commodity research to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.

• Benchmark pricing, lead times, and contract terms against industry standards to stay competitive.
Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Coach junior procurement staff in effective negotiation techniques and procurement strategy.

• Promote knowledge sharing and negotiation best practices across the procurement organization.
What education and experience are required?

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Finance, or related field.

• MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred.

• Minimum 6–10 years of procurement experience with at least 4 years in supplier negotiation roles, preferably in a multinational or complex industry environment.

• Proficiency in procurement tools and MS Office.
