Packaging Engineering Lead – Greenfield Project (Aseptic Manufacturing)
A leading global manufacturer is delivering a major greenfield facility and is seeking a Packaging Engineering Lead to drive the delivery of core filling and end-of-line systems. This is a high-visibility role with responsibility for packaging systems execution, commissioning, and start-up readiness on a flagship site.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead a small team and take ownership of aseptic filling and packaging systems, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
You will work closely with EPCM partners, OEMs, and cross-functional teams to deliver installation, integration, commissioning, and qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Lead delivery of filling and end-of-line (EOL) packaging systems
Oversee installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Manage OEMs, contractors, and EPCM partners through project execution
Drive start-up readiness, ramp-up, and OEE performance
Own packaging CAPEX scope including cost, schedule, and risk management
Support supplier selection, technical reviews, and equipment specification (URS)
Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and hygienic design standards
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational readiness and handover
About You
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Food, or similar)
5+ years’ experience in food, beverage, pharma, or related manufacturing
Strong experience with aseptic filling and high-hygiene packaging systems
Proven track record delivering CAPEX or greenfield projects
Experience with commissioning, validation, and start-up
Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
