Job Description
The Senior Project Manager oversees the delivery of package activities, ensuring alignment with operational goals and safety standards. This role involves managing large-scale rail projects, design, planning, procurement, construction, and operations.
Principal Accountabilities
* Delivering rail projects through various stages of the project lifecycle, from concept development to completion of implementation.
* Coordinating meetings between project teams to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and integration points.
* Reviewing scopes of interfacing series contracts to ensure alignment with overall objectives and requirements.
* Overseeing and managing package activities and deliverables.
* Administering contracts for several projects as part of a programme and monitoring, tracking, and reporting on project expenditure, schedule, milestones, change, and quality.
* Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with operational railway interfaces.
* Facilitating collaboration and integration among multidisciplinary programme teams.
* Ensuring compliance with planning and procurement policies across all related project activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
15+ years' experience in project management activities, including 7 years' experience across the project lifecycle in high-value rail projects or similar scale/complexity.
Construction Management Expertise:
Leadership and management experience of medium-scale diverse teams.
Commercial and Financial Acumen:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.
Leadership and Management:
Ability to govern and drive project & programme outcomes to ensure high-quality service.
Collaboration and Risk Management:
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesive project delivery.
Knowledge and Certifications:
Understanding of railway systems, including design, operations, and safety standards.
Education and Professional Memberships:
Demonstrable academic qualifications (NVQ Level 7 or 8) or equivalent and professional institution Incorporated level or equivalent.
