Job Description
Location: New Ross, Co. Wexford (Primary Base)
Travel: Regular travel to Rosslare; occasional travel to Dublin, Kildare, and Cork, dependent on business.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team based in New Ross. This is a role suited for a problem‑solver who enjoys a mix of deskside support, administration, and technical automation. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for IT issues, supporting office staff, workshop teams, and transport operations. You will manage our Google Workspace environment, deploy hardware, and utilize scripting skills to automate workflows and backups.
Key Responsibilities
Ticket Management: Act as the first point of contact for all IT queries, triage, assignment, troubleshooting, and resolution of tickets within set KPIs.
Deskside Support: Provide hands‑on support for diverse teams, including office staff, workshop, and transport personnel. Troubleshooting includes specialized transport applications and devices.
Hardware Lifecycle: Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
Mobile Device Management (MDM): Manage company mobile devices, ensuring security and deploying necessary apps via Google MDM.
Cloud & CRM Administration: Manage core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM), user permissions, system health monitoring via CloudWatch, and tiered access to Quicksuite reports. Serve as internal Salesforce administrator—handle user management, generate custom reports/dashboards, perform basic configuration changes.
System Administration & Automation: Manage the full lifecycle of Google Workspace users (licensing, OU management, group permissions). Utilize scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Google Apps Script) to automate repetitive tasks, create data backups, generate reports, and streamline workflows.
MS Office Support: Support users with Microsoft Office applications and compatibility.
Logistics & Strategy
Prioritisation: Assess incoming issues based on business impact and urgency, prioritising critical transport or workshop operations.
Travel: Travel regularly between New Ross and Rosslare to provide on‑site support, with less frequent scheduled visits to sites in Dublin, Kildare, and Cork.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience with Google Admin Console (user management, OUs, licensing).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Docs suites.
Experience with Google MDM or similar Mobile Device Management tools.
Demonstrable skills in scripting and automation (for backups/reporting).
