Audit reform legislation has required the market to look for increased diversity and choice of firms; and our financial services practice has been a key beneficiary of this. We are now recognised in the market as one of the foremost financial services audit and assurance practice and this is demonstrated by the significant number of mandates transitioned to date and upcoming new engagements.
The Position
The successful candidate will strengthen the Forvis Mazars Compliance & Quality Monitoring team by completing controls testing, data collection for group reporting and monitoring of key compliance processes to manage the firm's quality risks in accordance with ISQM1. The position would ideally suit someone with monitoring & testing experience in a compliance/risk/accounting/internal audit environment looking to progress their career.
Key Responsibilities
* Performing testing of firmwide controls as part of our ISQM1 testing plan
* Documenting walkthroughs of processes
* Evaluating and improving the firm's internal controls & related processes
* Collate data required for annual group quality reporting campaigns
* Monitor firm's compliance with quality management standards
* Assisting & updating the firms QC policies, procedures & process documentation
* Assisting with external regulatory inspections
* Providing firmwide and management training, as needed
* Other ad hoc duties, as needed
Ideal Candidate
* Knowledge of ISQM 1
* Controls testing and monitoring experience
* 2/3 years' experience in an internal audit or accounting professional services firm
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to work to competing deadlines
* Strong organisation skills
* Functional knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Takes ownership and accountability of tasks
* An understanding of Irish AML legislation and GDPR is an advantage but not essential.
