Job Description:
Parks and Landscape Officer
This role involves planning, designing, developing, and managing various types of outdoor spaces including parks, heritage landscapes, gardens, open spaces, green infrastructure, public realm, urban design, urban forests, sports grounds, recreation and play facilities, burial grounds, community gardens, and allotments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, landscape architecture, arboriculture, natural or environmental science, with a minimum of five years of postgraduate experience in the management of these types of spaces. They will possess excellent professional competence, be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage and motivate staff, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and manage projects on time and within budget.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture, Natural or Environmental Science (level 8 or higher)
* A current clean driving license
* A minimum of five years postgraduate experience in the management of parks, heritage landscapes, gardens, open spaces, green infrastructure, public realm, urban design, urban forests, sports grounds, recreation and play facilities, burial grounds, community gardens, and allotments
