Senior Cardiac Physiologist
to a Hospital in Ireland.

Responsibilities
Perform, supervise, and interpret a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including ECG, Holter/BP monitoring, stress testing, EP studies, and device management (pacemakers/ICDs)
Maintain expert knowledge of cardiac diagnostic techniques, ensuring accurate measurements and high clinical standards
Communicate effectively with consultants, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care and clinical findings
Ensure timely completion, reporting, and documentation of all cardiac investigations
Maintain departmental records, policies, and procedure manuals in line with best practice and regulatory standards
Oversee equipment functionality, ensure maintenance compliance, and report faults in line with hospital policies
Lead, train, supervise, and support staff, students, and junior physiologists, including performance evaluation and mentorship
Ensure adherence to infection prevention, medication administration, health & safety, and patient confidentiality standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, incident reporting, and service development activities
Maintain continuous professional development, stay updated with advancements in cardiology, and deputise for the Chief Physiologist as required
Requirements
BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin or Dublin Institute of Technology
OR an equivalent Level 8 scientific qualification approved by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP)
OR (for candidates qualified in or before ****) a Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology
OR an equivalent relevant scientific qualification approved by IICMP
Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a Cardiac Department
Experience in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Cardiac Pacing
Experience in Electrophysiology (desirable)
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Strong general knowledge of cardiology
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Motivated with an innovative and proactive approach
Demonstrated clinical competence in a cardiology setting
Ability to contribute to service development initiatives
Up-to-date knowledge of advancements in cardiology
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities
