Flogas LPG is seeking a forwardthinking, commercially minded Financial Controller to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the financial performance, insight and strategic direction of the AllIsland LPG business.
This is not a traditional Financial Controller role. You will combine strong financial control with automation, process improvement, data‑driven insight, and commercial partnership.
As a key member of the finance team, you will work closely with the Head of Finance, senior business leaders, and Group Finance to modernise reporting, enhance decision‑making, and support the ongoing growth and transformation of the LPG business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Governance
Lead monthly financial reporting for the All-Island LPG business, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful outputs.
Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality, efficiency and automation.
Identify financial risks and opportunities, supporting mitigation and value‑creation initiatives.
Lead external and internal audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
Ensure robust financial controls and governance frameworks are embedded and continuously strengthened.
Commercial Insight & Business Partnering
Provide commercial analysis, scenario modelling and pricing assessments for new customers and growth opportunities.
Deliver meaningful KPI dashboards and financial insight to senior stakeholders, leveraging BI tools to improve decision‑making.
Partner with the Head of Finance / Finance Director on cost management, investment appraisal and commercial strategy.
Lead budgeting and forecasting across the business, enhancing accuracy, insight and stakeholder engagement.
Act as a trusted advisor to the LPG leadership team, constructively challenging assumptions and supporting strategic direction.
Transformation, Systems & Process Improvement
Modernise finance processes, reducing manual effort and streamlining month‑end through automation and standardisation.
Enhance reporting and analytics capability through improved use of systems and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
Lead and support finance systems evolution, ensuring scalability, data quality and operational efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and the broader LPG division, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and enhance performance.
Finance Operations
Oversee accurate financial recording, working capital discipline and adherence to Group policies and processes.
Evaluate and strengthen financial controls, ensuring assets, cash flow and profitability are safeguarded.
Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient finance operations.
People Leadership
Lead and develop a team of qualified accountants and finance professionals, fostering capability, engagement and high performance.
Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration across the finance team.
Work effectively with Group Finance and cross‑functional colleagues to deliver shared priorities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a commercially focused finance leader with proven experience across financial control, FP&A, and business partnering in a complex, data‑rich or regulated environment.
You will bring:
Experience leading improvements in reporting, automation, processes or systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insight.
Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and a passion for improving information delivery.
The credibility and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
A collaborative, growth‑focused leadership style and a strong track record of developing high‑performing teams.
A mindset geared toward building, improving, and shaping a modern finance function.
