We are currently working with a leading infrastructure and electrical services organisation to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join its Commercial Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional looking to further develop their expertise within public infrastructure projects, cost management, and contract administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of public lighting and utility projects while working closely with commercial and operational teams.
Brief Overview
Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Estimating, the Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project financials, supporting contract administration, and ensuring commercial objectives are achieved across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, and project quotations.
Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Manage and track quotations through the company CRM system.
Assess subcontractor payment claims and support subcontract management.
Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts.
Compile and substantiate project variations and extension of time claims.
Produce cost reports for senior management.
Assist with tender submissions for large-scale projects.
Support contract management and commercial administration activities.
Collaborate with operational teams to maximise project performance, procurement, and financial outcomes.
Requirements
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 4 years' post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role.
Valid working rights in Ireland.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
Excellent analytical and financial management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
