Job Overview
We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health needs, sensory and physical impairments.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive assessments, interventions, care planning, and onward referrals.
* Manage complex clinical caseloads using advanced reasoning and autonomous decision-making skills.
* Develop and oversee therapy programmes, adaptations, equipment, and activities to meet individual needs.
* Contribute to the planning of new facilities and ensure environments meet service-user requirements.
* Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records.
Training & Supervision
* Provide training and supervision to staff, families, and service users as required.
* Liaise with colleagues to supervise staff-grade OTs and students.
* Participate in professional supervision and service evaluation to drive continuous improvement.
Multi-Disciplinary & Service Development
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.
* Support policy and service development across occupational therapy services.
* Engage in service planning, audit, and research to ensure best practice is embedded.
Professionalism
* Maintain professional standards and adhere to CORU guidelines and code of ethics.
* Stay up-to-date with clinical and service developments to maintain expertise.
* Acknowledge and adhere to health and safety, GDPR, infection control, confidentiality, and safeguarding obligations.
