Vision Built is seeking a Project Planner to lead the planning management function. The ideal candidate will set the standard for planning and project controls, regularly reviewing these functions during the preconstruction and construction phases.
The role involves developing a consistent approach and producing regular reports to feedback on progress and performance to the group board.
Vision Built's head offices are located in Tubbercurry, Sligo, and Oranmore, Galway. The position offers the option for location in either of these areas, depending on the candidate. Please note that travel will be involved in this position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead in developing the baseline contract programme, covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, with all elements fully logic linked and having a critical path.
2. Lead in preparing a construction (target) programme highlighting areas for improvement against the contract programme.
3. Prepare tender event programmes for subcontractor procurement, including design release and lead-in activities.
4. Maintain electronic files and administer planning and programme documents using the common data environment (CDE).
5. Provide programme information to support the management team.
6. Develop 4D graphical models or 2D phasing plans to represent build sequences, phasing, and logistics.
7. Use construction programmes to produce or assist in producing project prelim books, covering staff resources, logistics, and temporary works.
8. Engage with the supply chain to develop project programmes related to design, lead-ins, construction periods, and resource requirements.
9. Review risks and opportunities for each programme, highlighting potential mitigation measures, including float and time risk allowances.
10. Receive advanced training in construction project management software for progress analysis and s-curve reporting, managing costs and resources.
11. Obtain advanced Primavera P6 training for managing costs and resources.
12. Complete managing people training.
13. Develop advanced contract awareness, understanding JCT and NEC forms of contract.
14. Hold a relevant degree or diploma in construction management, with certifications in planning and programme software.
15. Be a member of a relevant professional body, if applicable.
