Job Description
The Positive Behaviour Support Specialist role involves providing behaviour support and crisis interventions to children and adults. This hybrid position requires working from home and travelling to service locations, necessitating a mix of autonomy and collaboration with the Clinical Services Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement effective Positive Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with clinical colleagues and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
* Manage caseloads efficiently by prioritizing tasks based on service requirements and professional governance.
* Provide assistance to MDT members as required to ensure service user safety.
* Adhere to Resilience policies and procedures, and national standards and legislation.
* Establish and implement best practice policies and procedures in their approaches.
* Participate in clinical audits, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the Performance Appraisal system.
* Attend all meetings as necessary and report issues that may impact service users.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments with the service user, family, and MDT.
* Develop and implement effective Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
* Attend psychiatry appointments and contribute to medication assessment and monitoring.
* Collaborate with the Clinical Team and MDT on complex cases.
Training Responsibilities
* Identify training needs in specific areas of positive behaviour support.
* Participate in the development of training strategies aimed at meeting these needs.
* Provide training on topics of effective behaviour management and situational management.
