About the Role:
An exciting opportunity for a Transmission and Compliance Editor to join one of the core Broadcast Services teams within Virgin Media Television.
This team is responsible for the preparation, review & output to air of all Virgin Media Channels.
Due to the nature of Television, this role is onsite at our Ballymount Studios and involves irregularhours and weekend work.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
Prepping live programmes for quick turnaround repeats
Prepping all non-live programmes to fulfil the needs of the weekly programme and digital schedules across all VMTV channels
Flag and resolve any audio/visual glitches within files
Evaluate acquired programme content with due regard to Virgin Media television's taste and decency guidelines
Send content to internal transmissions systems for on-air playout
Meticulous entry of metadata into rights and scheduling software
Assist the Transmission team in loading, timing, and checking transmission schedules
Monitor of VMTV linear channels and third party stakeholder platforms carrying VMTV channels
Load and QC access service files, commercials, and other interstitials
Ensure that the content for output of all channels is kept to the highest broadcast standards
Other additional duties as necessitated by the Company
Skills & Expertise:
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of Avid based editing systems, or similar
Have at least 1 years' editing experience
Understanding of broadcast video formats and standards
Knowledge of Transmission systems and Rights/Scheduling software is an advantage but not essential
