Job Purpose:
To ensure the efficient and safe handling, storage, and dispatch of HVAC Equipment. The Warehouse Operative/Storeman plays a critical role in maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting production operations, and contributing to a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Goods In/Out:
* Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries of raw materials and finished goods.
* Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct documentation.
Stock Control:
* Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular stock checks and cycle counts.
* Assist in investigating stock discrepancies and support continuous improvement in inventory control.
Material Handling:
* Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet truck).
* Ensure proper storage of insulation materials to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.
Health & Safety:
* Comply with all health and safety policies, including the use of PPE and safe manual handling techniques.
* Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, including waste segregation and spill management.
Equipment & Maintenance:
* Operate warehouse machinery and vehicles safely and report any faults or maintenance needs.
* Assist with basic upkeep and cleanliness of tools and workstations.
Support to Production:
* Supply raw materials and components to the production area as required.
* Collaborate with production staff to meet delivery deadlines and operational targets.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in refrigeration, trade counter in a busy plumbing wholsesaler, trade counter in hardware store
* Manual Handling certification – ideal but not essential required.
* Good command of English – spoken and written.
* Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
* Good physical fitness – ability to lift and move products safely.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order handling and stock keeping.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck).
* Driving License
