Main Function of the role
Hermes Fund Managers Ireland Limited ("HFMIL") is a subsidiary of Federated Hermes Limited ("FHL").
The role of the Investment Analyst is to provide support for the Head of Investment/ Designated Person for Investment Management in the HFMIL Dublin office. A core element of their role will be to provide insight and interrogation of the various investment products which are managed by HFMIL, including public markets, private equity, private credit, money market funds and trade finance asset types.
Key task and responsibilities
Conduct detailed portfolio analysis to assess investment exposures, evaluating asset allocations, investment risk concentrations, performance trends, and alignment with fund investment strategies.
Interpret investment guidelines through an investment‑lens in light of regulatory and client mandates, alerting the team of any potential breaches to the investment management of the products, reviewing changes to these to ensure they meet regulatory requirement/adapting oversight framework.
Organise and attend calls with portfolio managers to discuss mandates, insights on investment portfolio and the impact of proposed strategies on portfolio risk and guideline constraints.
Analyse market events and regulatory developments on investment thesis, to assess potential impacts on portfolios, investment processes, guidelines and positioning.
Support in oversight of investment decision‑making across asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternatives).
Evaluate new investment products and strategies, performing rule‑mapping oversight and scenario hypothesis to understand investment strategy, risk characteristics, and operational implications.
Prepare and deliver investment‑focused reports for senior management, providing clear and actionable insights on exposures, trends and breaches.
Prepare portfolio manager meeting notes and develop and maintain dashboards or information for any investment specific forum, including committees, boards or internal meetings.
Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives both within the Irish office and Federated Hermes Group offices.
Experience Required
A strong knowledge of data analysis is a pre‑requisite. This includes analysing investment data, ability to translate guidelines and evaluate investment rules. A knowledge of technology solutions such as Power Bi dashboards, and a working understanding of SQL and python would be considered beneficial.
