Job Overview
Coordinate current NPI activity at the company for existing product lines and projects to support new technologies and capital equipment purchase.
* Lead a team of engineers in the development and introduction of new products/repairs/projects within agreed scope, target product cost levels, and scheduled introduction dates.
* NPI Gate Process: Review and approve NPI project proposals through the company gate process.
* Project Management: Prepare or support team in preparing project plans for projects, including project scope, budget, and schedule. Establish project teams/resource planning for projects. Conduct project reviews with project teams/management ensuring all concerned are updated on progress. Maintain adequate documentation of all aspects of the project.
* Product Development: Obtain repair approval. Maintain good relationships with OEMs on repair approval processes. Determine preferred technology/process equipment for repairs. Support teams in following best practices in introducing products/repairs.
* Product/Product Introduction: Identify up-front requirements of stakeholders (production teams, quality, EH&S, maintenance, etc.). Procure new equipment required for product introductions in accordance with company procedures. Ensure necessary product information is provided in a timely manner to commercial teams to support product launches. Conduct final project reviews with operations/quality/EH&S to close and sign product transfers to production. Monitor product costs/profitability for 6 months of production to ensure target costs are achieved.
* Leadership: Provide direction and leadership to team members on assigned projects. Present progress reports for projects against agreed plans at management reviews. Liaise with OEMs and EASA design organisations to co-ordinate and expedite approval of substantiation packages. Conduct management reviews upon completion of projects to verify success against budgets, product costs & schedules and record lessons learned.
