Job Summary
Note: This is a Fixed Term contract until 2026
In this role, you will effectively plan and guide the Engineering team, ensuring quality products and operational efficiencies are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Mentor and may lead engineering team to achieve site and department goals in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable manufacturing processes and systems.
* Perform technical and hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and improvements of automated equipment.
* Conduct and document engineering studies and evaluations.
* Analyze data to drive improvements, prioritize tasks, and identify opportunities.
* Lead and mentor in root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA).
* Assess and schedule technical training on electromechanical systems, pneumatics, servos, PLCs, schematic reading, and new technologies.
* Manage high-visibility projects, including developing scope, timelines, savings, and cost estimates.
* Prepare validation documents, user requirements, and equipment specifications.
* Establish relationships with customers and automation suppliers for mutually beneficial results.
* Provide engineering support to optimize plant machinery and processes.
* Evaluate and review employee performance regularly.
* Promote and support Lean Manufacturing principles within the facility.
* Research and implement new technologies and methodologies.
* Maintain a customer service attitude in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
* Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
* Comply with all safety and work regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required
* Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience
* 5-8 years of relevant experience required
* At least 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience in manufacturing required
* Strong automation background; experience with CAD and SAP is a plus
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, equipment, and industrial techniques
* Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills
License and Certifications
* Six Sigma Green Belt preferred upon hire
* Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred upon hire
Travel Requirements
Up to 10%, approximately 26 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work; occasional exertion up to 10 lbs/4 kg; mostly sitting.
