are recruiting for a Project Manager to join a large civil contractor to work in Cork on large utility projects.
Our client is
seeking a Project Manager with a civils background
with at least 5 years experience taking ownership over complex civils projects, ideally with experience in
groundworks, roads, Irish Water, ESB, utilities and concrete who is
able to handle responsibility and work off their own initiative in a busy working environment.
Project Manager Job Requirements:
Examine project plans and requirements to develop a comprehensive baseline programme using Microsoft Project.
Monitor the programme regularly and provide clients with updates.
Identify delays in the critical path as they occur and illustrate them on the programme.
Negotiate necessary extensions of time with the client.
Assess project pricing and monitor internal costs to ensure the project stays within budget.
Pinpoint areas of financial loss within the project, determine root causes, and devise mitigation strategies.
Communicate these commercial issues and proposed solutions to the Contracts Manager.
Understand the project contract and pricing, and identify any variations.
Negotiate additional costs with the client as needed.
Review contract documentation and communicate necessary notices to the client within the specified timeframes.
Act as the line manager for the Site Agent, Project Engineer, and QS, overseeing all site workers through the Site Agent.
Evaluate and approve monthly progress claims.
Review and approve Risk Assessment Method Statements and other pre-construction health and safety documentation.
Conduct regular health and safety, and quality audits.
Identify design issues and communicate proposed solutions to the client.

5 years+
experience as a foreman on civil engineering projects including groundworks, roads, Irish Water, ESB, utilities and concrete
Extensive experience in effective management of sub-contractors
Ability to work to tight deadlines
An
understanding of site levels, and be able to set up and use a pipe laser
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills
PC Skills to complete timesheets, requisitions etc
Full Driving License
