Our client, a support service within the health sector, is seeking a Financial Officer / Management Accountant to oversee all financial operations for their Tralee, Kerry Services division. Reporting directly to the Finance Director (HQ, Dublin) and with a dotted line to local management, this role leads a finance team of 56 and ensures strong financial governance, compliance, and performance. Key Job Duties: Lead and develop a finance team of 56 staff. Manage payroll, including cover for the Payroll Officer as required. Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Prepare monthly management accounts, month-end journals, and bank reconciliations. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial forecasts. Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to management. Support strategic initiatives such as NiSRP and IFMS projects. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements. Provide oversight of residents finance operations. Drive process standardisation and efficiency improvements. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the HSE and funders. Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Proven experience in financial leadership, payroll, and audit management. Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency. Project management experience and payroll qualification are advantageous. This is a maternity leave contract for 12 months.
