Job Summary: The Data Centre Critical Environment Asset Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining all critical assets within the data centre to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability. This role involves overseeing the lifecycle of assets, implementing maintenance strategies, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Asset Management:
* Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all critical data centre assets.
* Monitor and manage the lifecycle of assets from procurement to disposal.
* Ensure that all assets are properly tagged, documented, and maintained in the asset management system.
* Maintenance and Operations:
* Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for critical assets.
* Collaborate with the operations team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to critical assets.
* Represent the client during the transition from construction to operations in relation to QAQC and commissioning deliverables.
* Vendor Management:
* Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
* Assist in negotiations of contracts and service agreements to ensure the best value and service quality.
* Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service-level agreements.
* Compliance and Standards:
* Ensure all assets comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
* Keep up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
* Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain detailed records of all asset-related activities, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
* Prepare regular reports on asset performance, maintenance activities, and compliance status.
* Use data analysis to identify trends, optimise asset performance, and recommend improvements.
* Budgeting and Cost Management:
* Assist in the development of the asset management budget.
* Monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective management of assets.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks to critical assets and develop mitigation strategies.
* Implement and maintain an asset risk management plan.
* Ensure business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested.
* Team Leadership and Development:
* Lead and manage a team of asset management professionals.
* Provide training and development opportunities to team members.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
* Education:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
* Experience:
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in asset management, facilities management, or operations within a critical environment, preferably in a data centre setting.
* Proven experience in managing maintenance programs and vendor relationships.
* Skills and Competencies:
* Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
* Excellent project management and organisational skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in using asset management software and tools.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Certifications:
* Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar are highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
* Primarily based in a data centre environment.
* May require occasional travel to other data centre sites or vendor locations.
* Must be available for on-call support and emergency response as needed.
