We address customer privacy needs, advance regulatory compliance, and embed Privacy by Design into our products and services.ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with U.S. and global colleagues to integrate EMEA requirements into Zoom's global privacy strategy, ensuring regional needs are fully representedPartnering with Sales and Account Teams to resolve privacy objections in multi-million-dollar deals, providing authoritative and timely legal support that enables revenue growthLeading legal responses to escalated customer inquiries, including drafting communications, engaging subject matter experts, and ensuring consistent, high-quality supportDeveloping and maintaining public-facing privacy resources—such as FAQs, whitepapers, and playbooks—to promote transparency and support customer self-serviceManaging regulatory engagement by handling inquiries, complaints, and investigations from EU and UK authorities, while ensuring credible, timely, and aligned responsesServing as the local legal authority on GDPR, UK GDPR, AI regulations, and evolving frameworks, reducing enforcement and reputational risk through expert guidanceCounseling cross-functional teams on Privacy by Design, infrastructure transparency, data residency, and other core trust-building initiatives — including AI and generative technologiesOverseeing key compliance programs and assessments, including DPIAs, LIAs, TIAs, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and contractual reviews, while supporting training, reseller programs, and global transparency initiativesWhat we're looking forHold a JD or equivalent law degree and a license to practice law in the EU or UK, with relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, AIGP, CIPT) strongly preferredBring over 8 years of legal experience, including 5+ years focused on EU and UK data protection law within law firms and/or in-house legal teamsDemonstrate deep knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and AI-related regulations; maintain familiarity with global frameworks like CCPAManage complex legal matters, including regulator engagement, escalated customer issues, and strategic product counselingCollaborate with engineering and product teams using strong technical fluency to align legal guidance with product developmentApply sound business judgment to balance legal risk with strategic goals and enterprise prioritiesLead independent work streams with minimal oversight in fast-paced, global environmentsSupport cross-functional teams with a customer-centric, adaptable mindset; work effectively across regions in a fully remote settingWays of WorkingOur structured hybrid approach is centered around our offices and remote work environments.
