MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Supervise food and beverage operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique.
· Attend or read the handover briefing at the beginning of your shift to ensure that you are aware of any special requirements for the day.
· Follow all standards as outlined in your department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Food & Beverage service standards, quality presentation, beverage products, health & safety and sanitation standards
· Preparing department for opening / closing
· A strong knowledge of beverages, beverage control and revenue maximization
· A strong knowledge of food menu items, preparation and presentation
· Ability to manage changes in room set-up at short notice professionally
· Ability to lead and develop a team of full time and part time employees.
· To ensure that all employees are familiar with all products on offer
· Demonstrate an ability to use interpersonal styles and methods to accomplish goals with the help of other employees.
· Demonstrate assertiveness to instruct, firmly represent organisational standards and goals, or discipline as necessary
· To support effectively and positively the necessary operational changes which will be made collectively for the continued development of the department
· To demonstrate the ability to adapt to environmental as well as internal organisational change through understanding the impact of change and the positive management of change
· Demonstrate an ability to develop a strong working relationship with other by being fair, open, reliable and consistent
· Demonstrate an ability to keep on-going interdepartmental relationships, informing them of potential problems and project progress necessary for all departments to function most effectively
· Maintain effective and appropriate liaison with our guests.

· To write the procedures for the SOP manual pertaining to service standards.
· To assist in the setting up and implementation of training records.
· To recognise and help employees with their training needs
· Create an environment where employees can take responsibility and authority for their work and development
· Demonstrate an ability to provide prompt corrective, as well as supportive, feedback
· Actively participate in Food & Beverage briefings when required
· Present suggestions for improvements at Food & Beverage Meeting
· Communicate all staff recruitment requirements/problems/achievements to Manager
· Conduct a briefing at the beginning of every shift
· Demonstrate an ability to communicate informally and effectively with all co-workers, in one-on-one or small group settings, through clear expression of ideas and thoughts and active listening
· Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of non-verbal communication in interaction with others
· Actively monitor the hotels communication channels and share this knowledge with the team when necessary
