We are seeking an experienced Dementia Advisor to join our team. The role is a vital part of providing comprehensive support for individuals and families affected by dementia.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and skills in working with people with dementia, as well as a primary degree or equivalent in a relevant healthcare area.
In this role, you will be the point of contact for people who are concerned about their cognitive health and/or have a diagnosis of dementia. You will offer practical assistance, advice, and signposting to appropriate services and supports, enabling them to take control of their own lives.
You will also support individuals and their families to navigate the health and social care system, ensuring they receive the right support at the right time.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
* Primary degree or equivalent in a relevant healthcare area (e.g., Social Care, registered nurse, occupational therapy, social work)
* Excellent knowledge and skills in working with people with dementia
* Understanding of dementia and its effect on the lives of those diagnosed
* Commitment to continuing professional development
* Experience in the community care sector
A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
