We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Fresh Food Manager to join the PELCO Group.
Job Role Purpose:
To drive and support the performance of the Fresh Food Department in our flagship store, in conjunction with the Retail & Fresh Food Operations Manager.
Based in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15, this is a full-time role, which will be predominately Monday to Friday.
Job Role Specifics:
Day to day management of the fresh food operation
Effectively support the deli team, work closely with these colleagues in delivering new & existing deli offerings/initiatives instore and ensure buy in.
Support deli manager & key colleagues to optimise sales, margin, participation and profitability across the fresh area
Support store in implementation of best practice through coaching, monitoring, observation and training of key deli staff & manager.
Achieve all fresh food KPIs - e.g. margin, participation, sales and wastage
Carry out operational checks of site deli - pricing, costings, departmental standards, range & availability, stock holding, ordering, stock taking & other operational processes etc.
Strive to improve efficiencies in deli department through process management, labour management, training & workshops.
Provide clear & valuable feedback to the team.
Achieve implementation targets for new initiatives in store
Drive consistent delivery of standards across the fresh food department
Develop strong relationships with Site Management & the Senior Team.
Assist & support other sites if required during occasions of absence, annual leave or throughout recruitment processes.
Support & work in conjunction with the Retail & Fresh Food Operations Manager, complete tasks in an efficient & timely manner - provide weekly feedback and updates.
Food Safety:
Ensure Food Safety management systems are implemented, maintained and monitored across
Perform quarterly HACCP & Food safety audits
Support Deli Manager in prioritising and implementing corrective actions
Ensure all HACCP and food safety audits are achieved in line with targets
Participate in all/any Food Safety Training offered
Health, Safety and Welfare Management:
Strictly comply with standards and safe working practices as outlined in The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and subsequent Regulations, Acts or Amendments
Strictly comply with all policies, practices and procedures, outlined in the Pelco Ltd. Health and Safety Management System and Safety Statement
Give full support to all Health and Safety Representative(s) in carrying out their duties
Participate in all/any Health, Safety and Welfare Training offered
Utilise all / any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available / offered
Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to remove and/or report to Manager
Operate all machinery and equipment as per manufacturer's instructions
Maintain security awareness at all times and escalate where appropriate

Job requirements:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Fresh Food Management Role
Passion for fresh food and retail, a strong work ethic with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Proven people management and leadership capability
Excellent communication and delegation skills
Excellent knowledge of Food Safety, Food safety Regulations and HACCP
KPIs and targets driven
