Overview
We are seeking a MEP Lead to join our Life Science team in Limerick. Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, the MEP Lead has responsibility for the delivery of MEP systems across designated large and/or multiple smaller scale projects that are on time, on budget and meet the company\'s Zero objectives of safety, Quality and Energy. Equally important is guiding, leading and motivating teams in applying MEP management systems to deliver fully integrated and commissioned MEP systems that meet design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handover with the building systems performing to the client\'s satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Promote the application of the Building Services Department Management Systems and Procedures, providing technical support, guidance and direction in overall Delivery of Projects.
* Support the Building Services “Value Proposition” and its alignment with the Business Units and Companies Vision, Values and Ambition Objectives.
* Assist in delivery of the Building Services Strategy Plan in support of the Business Units Objectives.
* Support all aspects of the MEP Technical and Commercial parts of the overall Project Bid in accordance with the Companies Pre Construction Manual Procedures.
* Provide guidance in the tender and award of MEP packages in accordance with the required contract Pre Construction and procurement strategy and objectives.
* Ensure MEP teams ascertain Temporary Electrical requirements for their projects including load and energy assessments per Management System Guidelines.
* Take overall responsibility for MEP Project delivery by providing guidance, leadership and motivation to MEP teams.
* Support planning for key building services resources to manage delivery of projects.
* Ensure MEP teams manage their projects in accordance with the Building Services Management Procedures, Guidance documentation and Project Execution Plans (PEP).
* Ensure teams finalize Building Services Installation and Commissioning programmes to integrate with the main Construction Programme.
* Ensure teams liaise with Utility companies to understand, communicate and adhere to infrastructural and interface requirements.
* Ensure teams produce Coordination and Builders Works Drawings for approval and Construction to meet programme requirements.
* Ensure teams implement tracking of equipment and plant from submittal approvals through samples, mock-ups, ordering, FATs, delivery and quality checks.
* Identify and mitigate key project risks related to programme, contractual or commercial matters.
* Manage QMS snagging, quality walk downs and progressive inspection and sign-off of MEP installations.
* Develop and manage site-specific ITP, Commissioning/Handover Plans with MEP Contractors.
* Maintain an approach based on safe working practices with knowledge of H&S policies and live energy practices.
* Maintain minimum 10 years of experience in managing large-scale and complex MEP projects.
* Demonstrate professional competence across estimating, pre-construction, installation, commissioning, and handover of large-scale projects.
* Possess strong technical, interpersonal and commercial skills to deliver large/multiple MEP projects.
Qualifications
* Mechanical or Electrical Academic/MEP Technical related qualification.
* Membership of an industry-related professional institution (e.g., CIBSE, CIOB, IEI or equivalent).
* IOSH or equivalent H&S management training.
* Planning, programming, project management, live energies/arc flash training.
