About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working as an Estimator, a Main Contractor background, strong IT skills, and excellent organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sourcing suitable subcontractors and suppliers for specific projects
* Formatting bills of quantities for departmental software programmes
* Resourcing bills of quantities to develop works packages and first-principles pricing
* Issuing supply chain tender pricing enquiries for work packages
* FOLLOWING UP ENQUIRIES AND REQUESTS FOR QUOTES
* Work package quotation comparisons and validation BOQ measurement & take-off of works to develop cost estimates to NRM
* Preparation of bills of quantities NRM preparation of cost plans NRM development of tender RFI schedules collation of design fee schedules in collaboration with design manager
* Development of tender preliminaries costs project risk analysis / assessment updating supply chain enquiries for document revisions & clarifications issued during tender process
* Use of departmental software system for above activities reporting to senior management
* To arrange handover meetings and formally hand-over new contracts input to and develop contractor proposals for tender bids database management addressing post tender queries
What We Are Looking For:
* Degree or HND Qualified
* Extensive experience working as an Estimator
* Main Contractor background
* Strong IT skills and conversant with standard software packages
* Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach
* Great commercial skills and awareness
* Good people management and communication skills
* Promotes a professional image with external parties
* Self-motivated and a team player
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Knowledge and understanding of construction frameworks
* BASIC understanding of building technology and construction techniques
