About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Food Service Associate to join our team in Wicklow.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for cooking and food service in a supportive, community-focused environment.
Kitchen Duties:
* Prepare and cook meals for our society members.
* Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff.
* Assist the Catering Manager with daily kitchen operations.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety.
* Follow HACCP guidelines and complete all required records.
* Control portion sizes and reduce waste.
* Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and floors according to daily and deep cleaning schedules.
* Manage washing up and laundry tasks as needed.
* Rotate and clean stock in cold rooms, freezers, and storage areas.
* Help place stock orders when required.
Dining Room Duties:
* Clear and reset tables after meals.
* Load and unload the dishwasher; dry and store utensils and dishes.
* Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness in serving and wash-up areas.
* Ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
* Empty and disinfect swill bins and manage waste disposal properly.
Key Competencies:
* Proven experience as a cook, ideally in a similar environment.
* Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety practices.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Attention to detail and a solid knowledge of food preparation.
* A flair and passion for cooking good, wholesome food.
