Kare delivers a wide range of community-based supports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in an innovative and progressive way. We deliver a range of community-based supports to over 550 children and adults with intellectual disability across Kildare, west Wicklow and east Offaly. Founded in 1967, and with a staff including volunteers of 770 people, our organisation has expanded the supports we offer to meet increased demand and changing needs. Today, we provide a range of services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, including day, residential, employment, clinical and short breaks (respite) services. THE POSITION Reporting to the Chairperson and the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will hold responsibility for the leadership, operational management and administration of Kare in line with the purpose and values of the organisation. The CEO will develop and implement strategic plans agreed with the board to ensure excellence in service delivery while also ensuring the highest standards of good governance. The CEO will be a key ambassador for Kare while ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for its service users, securing resources, and ensuring organisational effectiveness and sustainability. The appointee will be the public face of Kare in collaboration with the senior management team and board members, to further build and enhance the profile of the organisation with service users, volunteers, funders, media and other key stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS Suitably qualified and interested candidates will be operating at or near CEO standing with an exemplary track record of leadership in an organisation of relevant size, scale and complexity. Experience in a not-for-profit, voluntary or public sector environment is desirable. The Board is seeking an inspirational leader, who will bring strong strategic, advocacy, governance and operational capabilities to the organisation. In addition to possessing a strong affinity with the purpose of Kare, core competencies will include leadership, strategic vision and organisational awareness, coupled with financial acumen and the ability to contribute at all levels. Candidates must be exceptional communicators with the capacity to engage, inspire, and influence all stakeholders. A commitment to the mission, vision and values of Kare will be essential.
