Ayrton Group are seeking a Junior HSO to join our client, an Environmental Services group, on a project in the Meath region. This is a role open to recent graduates and those looking to develop their Safety careers.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental, whether that be through hands on work experience or academic experience. The Junior HSO will collaborate with various departments to create a strong culture of Safety.
This is an initial 12 month contract position with the potential for permanency. The role will cover two sites across the Meath region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts in the workplace, report on internal systems, and recommend appropriate control measures.
* Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
* Provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
* Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being.
* Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address SHEQ concerns.
* Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed.
* Promote a culture of SHEQ excellence throughout the organization.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ processes.
Key Requirements:
* A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental would be an advantage.
* Proven experience as a EHS Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a high risk industry.
* Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate across departments.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
* Full driver's license and vehicle.
