Job Description
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport/Driver Controller will effectively maintain the transport operation and daily business activities while observing company processes and procedures within the Transport team. The role involves operating and delivering the transport service based on the provided plan. The Controller will act as the key liaison and point of contact for all day-to-day transport activities.
Salary: €37,000 per annum.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off days, 05:00-16:15
Key Duties of a Transport Controller:
* Follow and adhere to the Transport Plan daily, making adjustments as needed for business requirements.
* Collect and maintain transport data as required by operations.
* Update transport information accurately and timely within the management system.
* Communicate daily with personnel across the operation (Drivers & Transport Manager).
* Brief and debrief Drivers at shift start and end, ensuring information accuracy.
* Manage PODs, check discrepancies, and handle paperwork queries with Customer Service.
* Liaise with customers regarding delivery issues.
* Ensure compliance with legal and company procedures regarding defects, services, NCTs, etc.
* Maintain clear communication with drivers about start times, shifts, and operational changes.
* Support good morale, report driver issues, and communicate operational updates.
* Ensure adherence to statutory, legal, health & safety, and safe systems of work requirements.
* Proactively escalate potential service issues to management and customers.
* Provide flexibility to cover colleagues’ tasks during absences or holidays.
* Promote a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment for the team.
* Assist with compliance regarding working time legislation, operator licensing, health & safety, and quality standards.
* Adhere to Culina’s company values and support company initiatives.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar Transport and Logistics role.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Knowledge of tachograph, driving rules, and regulations.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other IT tools.
* Professional, approachable, and helpful demeanor to ensure smooth operations.
