Electrical Estimating Manager – LV SwitchgearLocation: South East IrelandJob Type: PermanentAbout the RoleAn established electrical engineering and switchgear solutions provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Manager – LV Switchgear to lead the preparation of accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for low-voltage (LV) switchgear projects.The successful candidate will manage the full estimation process, working closely with engineering, procurement, sales, and project delivery teams to ensure timely and high-quality tender submissions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the end-to-end estimation process for LV switchgear projectsReview client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to define project scopePrepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, engineering, and overheadsCoordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to validate technical and commercial inputsAnalyse project risks and opportunities to support competitive pricing strategiesDevelop and maintain databases for costs, suppliers, and historical project informationLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotationsEnsure compliance with relevant electrical and industry standards including IEC and related regulationsParticipate in bid reviews, technical clarifications, and client meetingsMentor and support junior estimation engineers where requiredContribute to continuous improvement of estimation tools, templates, and internal processesRequired Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline5–10 years’ experience in LV switchgear estimation or similar electrical estimating rolesStrong technical understanding of LV switchgear systems, electrical panels, and associated componentsProven experience managing tendering and bidding processes for electrical projectsFamiliarity with industry standards and electrical regulationsProficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office tools, particularly ExcelKey SkillsStrong analytical and cost evaluation capabilitiesTechnical expertise in LV electrical systemsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyLeadership and team coordination abilitiesStrong time management and ability to work to tight deadlinesPreferred ExperienceExperience working with switchgear manufacturers or Tier 1 contractorsKnowledge of ERP systemsExposure to international projects or multi-country standardsOffice-based role with occasional site visits and client meetingsCollaborative engineering and project-focused environment
