Graduate Programme Overview
This 2‑year Graduate Programme is designed to provide a holistic understanding of our business through structured rotations across key functions. We seek ambitious, motivated, and people‑focused graduates eager to develop a career in Quantity Surveying and contribute to a growing organisation. You will gain experience across our various sites.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Compile large sets of data critical to the business for commercial management.
Continuously revise and track these data sets.
Break down, assess, and present this data to internal and external teams (payment application, cost reporting, cash‑flow forecasting, value for money assessment, timesheet review, etc.).
Support the project delivery team in drafting contractual notices, sub‑contracts, and supplier agreements.
Review and identify relevant contractual terms and conditions from supply‑chain and client‑side documentation and raise any that appear to present a risk.
Support project delivery teams in procurement, change‑management registers, monthly reporting, and rebudgeting.
Contribute to the compilation of risk registers for projects, continuously monitor and report on risks.
Maintain strong communications with the tenders team; ensure comprehensive understanding of tender files when projects are handed over for construction.
Provide feedback on price, supply‑chain, programme, and logistics wins and losses to the tenders team on a continuous basis.
Manage and take ownership of tasks—become an expert in every aspect of your undertakings.
Suggest continuous improvement and promote knowledge sharing across the commercial team and between various departments.
Prepare to hand over to or take over from other team members while maintaining consistent and accurate presentation of workload.
Support and demonstrate key undertakings to new team members.
Visit sites regularly, build strong relationships with project delivery teams, and keep detailed understanding of programme, progress, risk, and opportunity.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Hold a Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Demonstrate initiative and ability to progress tasks, identify information gaps, and determine how to fill those gaps.
Show ownership of an undertaking and commitment to it (job, volunteering, or club membership).
Have a very high level of computer literacy, especially MS Office.
Previous work experience in construction, logistics, manufacturing, or utilities is beneficial.
Experience in quantity surveying as a part‑time position in practice or contracting is an advantage.
Demonstrate commitment to time keeping, attendance, professional appearance, and pride in work and workspace.
Hold a full driving licence and willingness to travel.
