As a non-profit social enterprise that primarily sells online, this role is responsible for setting direction, prioritising effort and ensuring that marketing activity delivers against agreed objectives, particularly in terms of course bookings and income generation to support our mission-driven activity.This is not a purely marketing or content creation role. It is a leadership role with a hands-on dimension for someone that can bring together the strengths of marketing, storytelling and practical content creation in a purpose-driven and results-oriented environment.Core Areas of Responsibility1. Performance Marketing for Sustainable Income Generation & ParticipationYou will lead the planning and coordination of marketing activity that supports participation and income at Common Knowledge, with a primary focus on courses and a secondary focus on the venue hire offering. The aim is to help more people access our programmes while strengthening the financial sustainability of the organisation.Responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining a clear, always on marketing strategy & plan for promoting our offerings across organic and paid channels as appropriateActing as the internal lead for external performance marketing support and ensuring work aligns with our values and prioritiesManaging our website, improving landing pages and booking journeys to make it easier for people to find, understand and book our coursesShaping simple follow up journeys, reminders and abandoned interest flows that support conversion without pressureReviewing performance against agreed indicators such as course occupancy and event attendance, Cost Per Acquisition and Return On Ad SpendUsing insight and data to refine approaches, focus effort and support informed decision making2. Always On Storytelling and Content SystemsYou will establish a sustainable rhythm of storytelling that speaks to the possibilities, value and relevance of learning and community at Common Knowledge whilst connecting with the problems that people are facing. The focus is on inspiration, consistency and systems rather than real time broadcasting pressure.Responsibilities include:Creating and maintaining a clear, multichannel content plan by week and by monthManaging content across social media, email and web channelsCurating and organising our existing photo and video archive into a usable asset bankDeveloping simple playbooks and guardrails so staff can confidently capture contentEnsuring all content reflects our values and presents Common Knowledge as practical, welcoming and contemporaryManaging the newsletter and supporting growth of our email audience3.
