Title: Instrumentation & Control EngineerLocation: DublinContract: 12 monthsYour new companyAt Hays Specialist Recruitment we have a great opportunity for an I&C Engineer to join our Biopharmaceutical client in Dublin, where you will be ensuring the technical design of instrumentation and control system hardware for the Process Automation System and PLC/SCADA/ HMI systems are reliable and robust.
Your new role
1. Design engineer for Instrumentation and Control Systems hardware which includes the scope of field devices and instrumentation up to and including control panels and industrial Human Machine Interfaces(HMIs).
2. Reviewing I&C scope for upgrade projects as well as capital projects with the project management team.
3. Redlining of I&C Drawings (Loop Drawings, Block wiring Diagrams, System Architecture, Design Specifications
4. Preparation of I&C Scope of Work for I&C contractors.
5. Preparation of I&C Bill of materials.
6. Attendance of Control Panel and Equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
7. Reviewing I&C contractors' installation and completion of MC Walks
8. Completion/coordination of Instrument loop checks
9. Working with Project, Electrical, Process and Automation engineers.
10. Assures all design & project work is completed in compliance with all regulatory requirements, including, cGMP, EHS, Global Engineering, design & construction directives, requirements & procedures, as well as all local regulatory requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related engineering field or its equivalent.
12. At least 5 years’ experience providing instrumentation and control systems hardware solutions to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
13. Experience in the design of control system network architectures for systems such as process automation systems or building automation systems for a biotechnology facility
14. Experience of control panel design for automation systems.
15. Knowledge of safety requirements for control panel design e.g. Arc Flash.
16. Experience in the design and installation of bus networks as well as classic I/O (4-20mA & 24VDC).
17. Understanding of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams and Standard Operating Procedures.
18. Knowledge of cGMP, particularly as it applies to biologics manufacturing.
19. Experience with vendor-packaged automation equipment, including Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms.
