Role Overview
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, coordination, delivery, and handover of electrical packages on large-scale construction projects. The role involves managing technical documentation, project progress, site coordination, subcontractors, commissioning activities, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Attend project start-up and mobilisation meetings.
Review and become fully familiar with project details, drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
Manage and coordinate technical submittals, ensuring timely issue, review, follow-up, and approval.
Raise, track, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
Monitor and manage labour tracking and resource allocation.
Maintain weekly progress reporting, identifying and managing changes, delays, and project variations.
Liaise with main contractors, client representatives, and site-based project teams.
Oversee coordination, procurement, and delivery of project plant and equipment.
Ensure materials are available in line with programme requirements.
Coordinate construction and commissioning schedules, ensuring commissioning plans are implemented on site.
Generate and manage periodic snag lists and monitor close‑out actions.
Manage project handover processes and maintain document control systems.
Support project-specific scheduling and programme management activities.
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme milestones.
Attend site meetings and action points arising from project reviews.
Identify and communicate project-specific improvements or innovative solutions to senior management.
Requirements
Extensive experience in an Electrical Project Manager or similar project delivery role.
Qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders.
Strong technical, scheduling, reporting, and project coordination skills.
Experience supporting commissioning, handover, and document management processes.
